The Energetics of Your Next Level

The Energetics of Your Next Level

One letter every Wednesday, for founders and leaders, on what strategy cannot reach.

How do you become the person who can have what you want?

You can see the business you want to build, the people it would serve, and the opportunities you want to go after, and you have the experience to take all of it seriously. Then one of them comes. Your biggest client says yes, the invitation comes to speak to a much bigger room, or the company you have wanted to work with finally offers the opportunity. In the same week you wanted it, something else comes up with it. Being more widely known feels exposing, a larger company feels like more people depending on you, and the success you wanted starts to feel like something you would have to protect all the time.

This is where I want to look more closely, because it is the question I work on with founders: what happens in you when you allow yourself to consider that this could be your life?

One of my clients said it to me this way, after six months of working together: she realized she was not very good at receiving, and at holding what she received. She has worked with NATO and the Pentagon, her model is taught at Harvard, and she already knew how to create results with her excellence. Receiving what came back to her, a compliment, an opportunity, a client, the money itself, was the part her system was not yet built for.

The energetics of your next level is how ready your body is to have it.

For a founder, the energetic structure in your body and your revenue run almost on an equal sign: how ready your body is for the bigger income, the bigger opportunity, and the bigger team is how much of it you can have and keep. I mean something different from how much energy you have on a given day. I mean the state your body lives in, expanded or contracted, and how much it can hold. That readiness sits below your thinking, in the body and in the energy, and that is where I work. It includes your knowing of your own worth and capacity, and the emotions, beliefs, and energetic patterns that come up around what you want. The question goes beyond whether you can make something happen. Can you welcome it, hold it, and let it become part of your life without feeling guilt or shame? There are three movements, and they go in order.

First, experience the possibility before the result confirms it.

Take something you want to create, and for a moment give yourself room to consider having it before you solve every step required to get there.

What would it be like to lead that company, to speak about your work openly, to receive the support you want and let it help you? You are not imagining it. You are noticing it, the way you remember something that already happened, and you already have the capacity and all the knowledge for it. It is what I call future remembrance: your body anchors into the finished state instead of feeling the current restriction as the limit.

Then decide. It is a matter of are you deciding or not, and the decision comes before the evidence.

There is more of you available than your current circumstances have let you experience.

In a session we go into a deeper, trance-like state, where you are fully aware the whole way, you speak and ask your own questions, and you remember everything afterward.

There is a difference between saying "I believe I could do this" and knowing in your body "this is available to me."

Letters like this one land every Wednesday morning.

Sounding nice is never your reality. It has to register in your body, and once it does, your whole being says, “I am that”, and there is no place left for fear or doubt to come in. That is what I mean by becoming: you know yourself as the person who has it before the outside has confirmed it.

Second, work directly with what comes up when you consider having it.

You want greater visibility and expect it to cost you your privacy. You want support and feel uncomfortable the moment someone else takes responsibility. I describe this as two arrows pointing in opposite directions, one toward the possibility and one away from what you fear about it, and they cancel each other out, so nothing happens.

So I ask the plain question: can you hold it? That is the work, and for that, your body needs to agree. Notice the response without deciding immediately what it means. The tension is information: sometimes it is a practical concern to address, sometimes an emotion to acknowledge, and sometimes a belief that attached itself to what you want years ago. You may understand that belief very well and still feel its hold, because understanding lives in the mind and the hold is a layer below it.

This is the center of my private work. In that deeper state we work with the emotion, the belief, and the energetic pattern as it comes up, you ask your own questions and get your own answers, and the resistance releases inside the experience itself. For the founder who connects visibility with losing her freedom, the change is being able to consider being widely known while keeping the right to choose what stays private, and then we give it practical form in how she communicates, what she says yes to, and how she grows the business.

Third, hold it: live from that experience until it feels normal.

A powerful session opens a possibility you could not experience before. Holding is how you keep it. It is a day or two, you see the change, and then you go back down, so staying there becomes your job, rather than dipping in and out. You are not losing the expansion. You are anchoring this reality into your nervous system.

From the outside it looks ordinary. You let someone contribute without taking the work back. You speak about what you are building without making it smaller. You receive interest and take the time to discern whether the opportunity is right for you. You keep learning, preparing, and putting in place the support your business needs, and my years of building companies stay in the room for that part. When an old response returns, you recognize it, reconnect with what became clear, and choose how to meet the moment in front of you. Greatness has to feel normal to you, and the feeling you are after is "of course."

Then the outside reorganizes. The people I work with describe opportunities and collaborations that came to them instead of the other way around, financial increase, and openings they had not expected. I never promise the timing, but I have watched the order hold every time: the state changes first, then the reality changes.

This week: notice one moment when something you wanted is offered.

Help, recognition, an introduction, an opportunity: any of them will do. Before you move to the next task, stop for ten seconds and ask: how do I feel about receiving this? Give the answer a moment to become clear, and notice which of three things you do automatically: welcome it, resist it, or judge yourself to see whether you deserve it. Then consider what accepting it would look like on terms you can stand behind, and take one ordinary action the same day: let the person help, accept the acknowledgment, or have the conversation.

You already have the capacity. It is a matter of remembering, and then of letting your system hold what it was always built to hold.
